Madonna

I think Madonna, Dylan and Waters are very different in their styles but each one is a good artist. Madonna has songs with controversial topics that in the 80’s were very criticized because in that time people didn’t talk about sex and money in an open way.

While Madonna has lyrics about common problems but unpublicized in the past, Dylan sang romantic songs that are pretty sad but with hope; while Madonna have pretended to be a known singer, a sex icon in the whole world, Dylan used to be a black artist that lived in a problematic history process in the States that sang love songs that expresses honest feelings.

They are very different as I already said, but it doesn’t mean that one of them isn’t a serious singer. They are good artists, examples to others that want to be famous, they’re singers that are going to be remembered always in the future.

  1. Nice post, Natalia!

You do an excellent job of indicating the context of each artist.I agree that they are all serious and impressive artists, even though their ideas about the world and the sounds that they express them in are very different. Who are some similar artists in your country?

  2. Colombia has a lot of good artists but all of them have their own style. Perhaps, we can say that Juanes is kind of similar to Fonseca. Juanes is from MedellĂn and sings Spanish Rock, he has a very nice voice and good songs. On the other hand, Fonseca has a tropical style but also has a lot of good songs with pretty lyrics.

  3. A tropical style sounds wonderful right now. Which one would you recommend more for an American listener:)?
